How does your H-VAC system work?2021-02-26T15:48:55-08:00
- Our systems are operated in alignment with the Oregon Department of Education’s RSSL guidance to districts, which includes guidance and recommendations for CDC.
- We regularly monitor the operations of these systems (much of this is done remotely) and replace filters in alignment with the guidance. This is under normal circumstances about every 6 months, due to current circumstances we are evaluating them more frequently and change them accordingly.
- The District maintenance team physically inspects our systems during routine filter changes or when other repairs are necessary.
- The recommendation is that we do not open windows when we have a ventilation system in the building that is meeting ventilation recommendations. Opening windows creates additional concerns around security, dust, pollen, and can cause the HVAC system to not perform as designed.
What happens when there is a positive COVID-19 case in our school?2021-11-19T10:20:54-08:00
DISTRICT WIDE
- When we are notified that a person who is confirmed positive with COVID-19 has been in one of our school buildings, we will communicate with all families of that school.
- This notification is intended to raise awareness and provide transparency and does not imply that there was a close contact exposure with students. Once a positive case has been identified, we work quickly to determine if there has been an exposure at school and who, if anyone, is a close contact of that individual.
- If your child is ever identified as having an exposure, please know you will be contacted personally from someone on our COVID-19 Response Team. If you do not receive a separate close contact communication, your student has NOT been identified as a close contact of the case. Close contact is defined as having a cumulative of 15 minutes or more of less than 3-feet distancing (for students) and 6-feet distancing (for adults) within 24 hours.
- We understand that this notification may generate questions and concerns. It is our hope that these updates will remind us all how we can work to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our communities and to provide you with timely information.
CLEAR LAKE ELEMENTARY PROCESS
